Dr. Sebastian Theopold

Dr. Sebastian Theopold founded Munich Strategy, a high-level management consultancy for strategy, M&A and transformation in the construction industry. He advised on many international projects and transactions in the plastic pipes sector. In 2021, he launched the MCX Construction Index, an interactive tool for gauging the performance of companies in the construction sector. In a current study he looks at the winning strategies of leading construction companies, also in the area of plastic pipes.

I have been working as an engineer in the field of MEP and fireproof installations for over 15 years. The types of investments I support include office buildings, underground/subway, hospitals, server rooms and data centres, industrial and technical facilities, universities and public buildings such as sewage treatment plants, water treatment plants, networks, and connections. Moreover, I deal with CFD simulations and fire protection.

As a qualified engineer I was quickly convinced by the benefits of plastic systems, which led me to a technical role within John Guest Speedfit in my early 20s – the challenges I experienced then are similar to those that are very much at the forefront still today.  I’ve worked with plastic in a number of applications from infrastructure solutions through to internal drainage and water supply; therefore consider myself very much a plastics man!

Patrick van Beek

Broad 24 years experience within the plastics industry in both technical and commercial functions :
First 10 years mainly technical and application development assignments at GE Plastics, followed by a 4 years project manager position for large Dutch multinational customer at Helvoet (manufacturer of precision thermoplastic and rubber components and assemblies).
Since June 2003 held several European sales functions within LyondellBasell for the Automotive (PP compound) and Specialty Polyolefins business.  Since April 2017 successfully performing as Marketing Manager for the global PB-1 business.
